MAGNET focuses on three dimensions of women’s agency that have high potential for catalyzing progress on women’s economic empowerment, but for which the body of existing measurement methods is weak or under-tested: (i) ownership and control of assets, (ii) goal-setting and decision-making, and (iii) sense of control and efficacy. The links on each of the tool categories lead to a separate page with an in-depth overview of the particular dimension of agency, along with links to pages for the tools themselves. These tool pages contain the theoretical motivation for the tool, a sample of the tool, information about the contexts in which the tool was tested, as well as a link to a site where the full tool, with implementation guidelines, can be downloaded. For some tools, users can also download CAPI files for the implementation of the survey, as well as a statistical annex, which includes in-depth information about tool validation, from the same site. All MAGNET tools have undergone or are undergoing testing in multiple contexts, and details on testing metrics can be found on our scoring methodology page.
